May 26, 2015 (Lexington, S.C.) – First Community Bank celebrated the grand opening of its new Blythewood banking office on Thursday evening, May 21st with members of the local community, the Blythewood Chamber of Commerce, bank customers and staff.  The gathering included a ribbon cutting with comments from Blythewood Mayor Mike Ross, Chamber Chair Wendy Broderick, First Community President and CEO Mike Crapps, and Alan George, the Vice President and Commercial Banker for the bank’s Blythewood office. The ceremonial ribbon was made of money and presented as a donation to Barb Teeter of the non-profit Christian Assistance Bridge organization.

“We are excited to be a part of the Blythewood community and we look forward to offering our unique style of banking to the professionals, businesses and residents that live and work here,” said First Community Bank President and CEO Mike Crapps. “Customers will enjoy our commitment to service and have expanded access to commercial and retail banking, mortgage banking and financial planning and investment advisory services.”

First Community’s new Blythewood office opened for business in April of this year.  The 3,000 square foot building, located at 201 Main Street, gives the Lexington-based community bank its 15th location and second in Northeast Columbia. Designed by local architecture firm Jenkins Hancock & Sides and built by Cohn Construction, the building is easily accessible right on Main Street and includes three drive-through lanes and a drive-up ATM lane. The new office is constructed in a classic southern style with brick exterior and stucco accents — a signature architectural design used by First Community in many of its markets. The lobby and drive-through lanes are open from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., Monday through Thursday; 8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m., Friday.
